I understand now why my former boss in my old company loved going to New York to eat. You never run out of new things to try. And we did run out of meals before running out of places we wanted to eat at. But it was all good. We were able to try a lot of things that was on our list. My list essentially.
Though this wasn’t really on my list, as Dominique Ansel’s was, Bouchon is famous as well. I have heard of it, hubby hasn’t. But I know of it. We decided that we could use a pick me up while hanging out at the Rockefeller Plaza (we didn’t find anything too interesting in the Rockefeller Market, except for maple cotton candy 😀 ). So Matt grabbed a coffee and a croissant, while I chose two flavors of their giant macaroons, pistachio and blueberry. (And this is the point I realize, New York will make me gain weight. Yes, five pounds.)
So hanging out and resting our walked-out tired feet, we enjoyed our parcel. I do not remember how much these giant macaroons are, but they were really good. The pistachio is my favorite. I was afraid of getting it because of all the fake pistachio ones I have had before. But the absolute gorgeous flavor of pistachio in the middle was heaven. None of the fake-tasting paste. This was the real deal. Also, the blueberry was good too, just that I enjoyed the pistachio way more than I did this one. Matt’s croissant? I wish it was a pan au chocolate instead, but with all the sweet things I was eating at that time, the savory bread was just the buttery break I needed.
