This idea is from a chinese canned dish that I have already tried to duplicate before. But I don’t understand how all the recipes could not replicate the flavors in the can that I like. So I decided to just make it up as I went along. We had pork from our Monterey foray recently. I put the
Spiced Pork Cubes Recipe
Around 1.5 pounds of pork diced
1/4 cup tomato sauce or 1 to 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
1/2 to 2 cups water, as much as needed, it will dry up eventually (less if using tomato sauce)
2 to 3 tablespoon of preferred chili garlic paste
salt, to taste
Put the first 3 ingredients in a pot and let the meat get softer, for about 20 to 30 minutes. After a while, add in the chili garlic paste (I used about 3 tablespoons). And then taste and add salt if necessary. Allow all the water to dry up and you will be left with oil of the meat and dried up sauce. Serve with rice. Yum.
