La Voila is about a few minutes away from Tagaytay’s Picnic Grove. We were looking for a good dinner place and this looked promising. Their place is quite eclectic, almost like a beach bum’s resto hut. The type of mismatched chairs, string of lights, that kind.
Our table ordered quite a mix of food as well. We have pizza for sharing, Filipino pork longganisa for me, pad thai for Kars and Ara, a pesto linguini dish for Gab, and chicken fingers for the kids. And I was hungry. And tired. I needed a pick me up. So I ordered apple crumble cheesecake for “appetizer”. And it may be the best decision I have had all day.
So there we were, waiting for our meal, and we got into our very delicious dessert. I was so happy with it (hey, four of us shared it), and almost finished it, but we ended up saving some for dessert! Then our food came. I think overall I was happiest with my food. Its easy to make, but I found it really good. I actually finished everything except for a big spoonful of rice.I like their garlicky longganisa, served with two eggs (cooked to my request). And I don’t mind coming back here simply for their desserts! But the pad thai and pesto linguine were so-so for me. I won’t miss those, totally.
