So the second part of birthday meals (and gaining weight!) was the Union Jack Tavern. I have always gone inside here for the chocolates. 🙂 And we did buy chocolates when we ate here too. Flake. Lots of Cadbury flake. 🙂
I have never eaten here but this screams of British food. Promises also of good food here from reviews was really nice. My sister ordered butter chicken, I had bangers and smash, my brother-in-law had turkey sisig, and we ordered bolognese for the kids.
Surprisingly, everything we ordered was really good. It seemed to be as authentic as it can get. The butter chicken was actually better than those I have tried from other places, which is a bit ironic what wits its origin of Indian cuisine. The turkey sisig, now, well, fusion. but it was really good too. Granted it was the creamy kind of sisig, but the flavors were spot on. The bangers were really good. Smash, not so much, but maybe because I was scrimping on the gravy, which made the flavors of the smash come out. 🙂
The bolognese was good too. Meaty, not too sour. Just right.
All of the servings served maybe 2 people. So we had a lot of food really. 🙂 But the prices were kinda steep too. 🙂 I wish they have smaller portions (but maybe the bigger Brits who eat here will complain about that then). 🙂
Will try their other food next!
