Chicken Burger

You can’t see the patty actually

I have been craving for a burger recently. I am sure it was brought on by watching the series Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives by Guy Fieri. I have been thinking if I should just eat out or make my own. But this is an opportunity for a blog post, so I made one. 🙂 I thought about making it a regular real burger, meaning beef, or a mix of beef and pork. But hey, I am on a diet, kinda, so I should stick to it.

I seasoned some ground chicken with chicken powder, and a bit of salt and pepper. I left it a bit thick, for good protein, then pan fried it on both sides until done. After flipping, I topped it with some gouda cheese that I have in the fridge. I left it plain, but had some sides ready. I sauteed some onion (not in oil, just on a non-stick pan), and some mushroom.

For the bread, we only had loaf bread. i buttered one side, and toasted it. I then layered it with the burger, onion, and mushroom. And served it with a side of slaw. 🙂

Chicken Burger Recipe

1 onion, sweated
1/2 cup mushroom, cooked and seasoned
1/2 pound chicken
chicken powder
salt
pepper
few slices of cheese
buttered and toasted bread

Prepare the first two items and set aside. Mix in chicken powder, salt and pepper into the ground chicken and form patties. Fry these according to your preferred sizes. And then layer on bread with your preferred vegetables 🙂
