This chain has recently opened in Manila but haven’t tried it yet. But after crossing over from Macau to Hong Kong, it was nice to see a restaurant to actually get excited about. So off we went to Ippudo for the first ramen of this trip, and my first foray into this ramen chain.
I didn’t ask anymore what the specialty is and maybe I should have. I ordered the miso-based thick noodle ramen, while my older sister ordered a specialty of the house. Rice, gyoza, fried chicken and eel rice were also ordered for the table and I tried most of those.
I preferred my sister’s ramen since it was purely pork. Insane pork flavor in the soup. With the addition of some heat, it was even better. Mine was good too, really, but the simplicity of the broth of my sister’s ramen was something I ended up craving for. The eel rice too was yummy. The fatty tender eel was heaven. I really do like my eel. The rice, and chicken were okay. Nothing exceptional, but good nevertheless.
We ended up paying about P2500 for everything, which is about the same price I would pay here for the same amount of food we ordered. The nice thing about this place was even if it was a ramen chain, they ordered a lot more than the other ramen restaurants here offer. 🙂
