We were lucky enough to be hosted by people we work with to a free lunch in Magnum Cafe. Magnum is a luxury ice cream brand that has been going around now. Though their line is simple, vanilla or chocolate ice cream coated in good chocolate, it has garnered quite a few fans. And their Magnum Cafe is a way to highlight their item.

Initially, the cafe only served ice cream/dessert. But we were lucky enough to eat here when there were meals being prepared already. Though the orders were done by the host, I am assuming we were able to sample quite a lot. We had both pumpkin and mushroom soup on the table. We got to try two kinds of pasta, the carbonara and the bolognese. We had two kinds of salad, steak, and the one with cheese. We had steak, and chicken. Then it was dessert time!

Honestly, out of all the menu, I loved the carbonara the best. The thing is, all the savory dishes were all just okay, and I didn’t feel excited in most of the food. Things could have been better, I think. The mushroom soup didn’t taste truffle-y enough (it was mushroom truffle, and the mushroom tasted like burnt butter). The steak salad was okay, but the other one was too sour for my taste. The bolognese, chicken and steak were all good, but again, nothing memorable.

Off to dessert! Most of the people in the group ordered their own magical creations (you actually get to choose what kind of toppings go on your magnum ice cream! 🙂 I decided to just share what was on the table, which was cookie dough ice cream. And know what? It was heaven!!! I loved it! Yeah yeah, I am a dessert person and would most probably rave over dessert more than a good meal. But this one was really great!!! 🙂
Two liner summary. Food was okay, dessert was great! 🙂
