Remember the book I got last Christmas? Well, I keep forgetting to reference it whenever we eat out. But glad that Ara reminded me of it and we decided to try a resto in the list. I initially chose Burger Bar, but Ara preferred something else, and we chose the restaurant right below it, which luckily was also in the book, Nam nam.
It is a Filipino restaurant, and it’s name means delicious or tasty. The owner or at least the manager was there too, overseeing the operations and asking how our food is generally. For a Sunday morning, the place was full, which was a good sign. The food was generally cheap too. 🙂 My drink was about as expensive as my food actually. But I’m getting ahead.
We ordered some paco salad, which is a local fern salad usually topped with salted eggs, tomatoes, and tossed in a sweet vinaigrette. Then we ordered rice with sisig, the ubiquitous local pulutan (snack to eat with drinks) that has become mainstream. Theirs was more onions than pork, which was discouraging. But it was good anyway. Not like the sisig of Gerry’s or Dencio’s or Pier One’s. But good enough.
The drink though was really good. I ordered Guinumis, which wasn’t available apparently. But their mango-pomelo-sago was good. But it was too filling I ended up having it to-go 🙂
We paid about P400 in all, with my drink at about one third of the bill. 🙂 hahaha. Not bad. Need to try the other dishes though. But a full resto, that’s already a good sign 🙂
