Quick Eats: Banana Leaf, Rockwell, Makati

I never eat here, I am not sure why. I think there was one time, in the height of the Banana Leaf popularity, that we ate here and decided after that to never eat here again.  Kinda sad. But during Easter Sunday, the restaurants were full of celebrating families and we kinda chose what had the least people in it, or at least an immediate available table, which is Banana Leaf. I quickly scanned the menu and my favorite of nasi lemak was there! So I ordered that. I do have wonderful memories of eating nasi lemak for breakfast everyday during my last trip to Kuala Lumpur.

Jarell was with us and had nasi lemak as well (fried chicken makes any kid happy), hainanese chicken for my sister, chicken curry for Kuya Dino, and porkchop in tomatoes for Maven. We also ordered roti cheese because we were hungry.

I really enjoyed my nasi lemak and the portions were quite justifiable, the price not even that bad. But the hainanese chicken was a complete fail. We ordered chicken breast part, with an additional payment, which wasn’t served to us properly. And when we finally got the chicken breast, it was raw in the thickest part. Which was like half of the chicken.

The porkchop in tomato sauce too was sickeningly sweet for me, but I guess other people would like it for sure, not bad. Curry was good though, really creamy 🙂

Will I go back? Yup, Even just for the nasi lemak. May have pushed this back from the bad experience from before, but maybe they have improved 🙂
