Thai Cooking Class

mise en place

After taking a Balinese cooking class and loving how I learned so much from the trip, I decided that as much as possible, I learn to cook in every new country I go to. I missed Cambodia, though there was really  no apparent hunger to try their cooking, but not Thai.  I need to make the perfect pad thai.

I almost gave up on this since some of the places I have inquired in require a mnimum of 2 or 4 people. But booking through an agent out of the blue gave me a cheaper rate! And yay, I didn’t have to pay for more people (I was willing to go that far). I paid THB950 for my class and got more than my money’s worth.

I was surprised to find out I was the only one in class! So I met with the chef, who just looked like a nice lady, and went to the market. We bought goodies. Then to their restaurant and cooking class, P Hot Pot.

We made tom yum, tom ka, green curry and pad thai. I don’t want to go into details what I did simply because it was not what’s important. But everything we made was so daaaamn good that it beat any of the Thai dishes I have had on that trip, let alone those I have tried here in Manila. I have yet to cook but am already so excited over it that I know that whatever I will be cooking will taste so damn good! 🙂
