Chicken Kemiri Stew

I felt frustrated with this ingredient, candle nut or kemiri. It added nothing to the flavor, but just some stewy consistency for the the sauce that sunk to the bottom of the dish. All in all, the stew was good. It was like coconut or chicken curry. But nothing out of the ordinary. The candle nut? Gotta find more and better ways to use this.

  1. Most of the time I just omit kemiri when cooking Indonesian dishes. Like you said it doesn’t seem to add that much flavor. Ask that Dentist Chef guy Dedy. He seems to know everything about Indonesian cuisine.
