How many times have you eaten the Chinese Lemon Chicken and found it unbearably sweet? I always do, actually. So when I was looking for a new chicken recipe, I ended up with lemon chicken, but fried.
I got the idea from a site that marinated their chicken with the lemon (and egg too). And since mom likes fried, and I wanted something new, I just decided to make a marinade for the chicken! 🙂
My old moroccan preserved lemons starred here, without overpowering the chicken flavor. With some garlic and a bit of sugar to counter the salt, this was the combined marinade. I allowed the chicken to sit for 1.5 hours, and with some nervousness, I tried it. And it was yuuuum. I asked ate Pines to cook the rest.
Honestly, it appears like regular chicken. But you know, with a hint of something you wouldn’t realize what. But just a slight change from something you like already 🙂
Lemon Marinade for Chicken Recipe
10 wedges of preserved lemon, minced
1/4 cup sugar
4 cloves of garlic, minced
Mix everything. Dump in the chicken and marinade for at least 2 hours. Remove excess marinade before coating the chicken with flour. Fry 🙂
