Though I love The Bistro Group restaurants, this might be the one I like the least. With the way I connect Bisto Group with great food and huge servings, well, this had tiny servings. But let’s go back to the story first.
Since this was a lunch treat, we just went along and ended up in this place. I don’t think it’s new since I remember seeing this in some other place before. It did shout Pig Out! So I was thinking that this might be well, you know, where people pig-out. But apparently, it’s because it’s, piggy, or porky. 🙂
The appetizers started out with sisig wraps, and some pita with hummus. Then served were chicharon rice (rice topped with chicharon), with the many viands like crispy kare-kare, Korean bacon (which technically were just strip of belly in some Korean sauce), sauteed vegetables, a feast of grilled items with chicken, fish and pork, and others.
The servings were quite small. Three platters of rice (priced at about P250 each) were consumed by 7 people, meaning it was about 2 people per platter! So base on that, you get the idea how small the servings are!
The total bill for our table alone would be about P4000, about $100, including the ginormous shared dessert of halo-halo. And that is expensive here, especially when you can get buffet for about P600 per head. 🙂
The service was absolutely terrific though. They were quick to address our needs and were very pleasant too. But a little bit wasteful for my taste. Maybe I will eat here if I had a discount card 🙂
