Restaurant Review: Watami, Glorietta 1, Makati

A cool restaurant hidden in a gem of an entrance just outside the new Holiday Inn in Makati. The resto actually has no entrance or access from the mall. A bit hidden, but apparently huge inside. It’s another resto by the Bisto Group who handles Friday’s, Italianni’s, Fish and Co, Crazy Garlik, etc.

The first half of our meal, we employed an effective 2-second rule. Raise your hand to call the attention of the waiter, and within two seconds, somebody approaches you. It was cool. And a huge improvement over the other restaurants, but it kinda faltered at the end. But hey, 5 second rule is still better than no rule at all. πŸ™‚

We ordered a mish mash of stuff. Edamame, assorted skewers, watami salad, salmon and rice, beef and rice, pork and rice, noodles, fried pork like a tonkatsu. We were six. And generally, the food was well received, except maybe for some of the rice and meat mixes lacking in meat. One thing I loved here (aside from the 2 second rule) is the Watami salad. I could have eaten the whole plate by myself! And the next time I go, I plan to have it all for myself! πŸ™‚

The price. Hmmm. We reached about P500 per head, which is generally expensive. But with our friend’s discount card and coupon, it dwindled to about P2300 πŸ™‚ Which is, good enough for everyone at the table! πŸ™‚
